Orgosolo, a town that best represents the social reality of the Barbagia region, is set on a steep slope at the edge of a plateau linked to the wild Gennargentu zone.
Along its main street one can admire the characteristic murals on the old houses which were painted at the end of the '60s.
Two interesting churches are the San Pietro Church and the Santa Croce Church. Other interesting religious monuments are the San antonio from Padua Church and the Assunta Church.
Orgosolo's extraordinary beautiful surrounding countryside with its vast Supramonte Plateau is a part of the Gennargentu Park project, established to protect the environment and make the most of the local economic resources.
